Ex-Sanfrecce defender MAKINO Tomoaki sent a message of support to Japan with a message written on his t-shirt, as he made an appearance for new side 1. FC Köln in the German Bundesliga on Friday night. The original goal.com article is here.

Cologne’s coach Frank SCHAEFER apparently wanted to show solidarity with Japan by bringing on Makino in the 87th minute. Makino has struggled to establish himself in the team since moving from Hiroshima over the winter, but he assisted in the fourth goal as Cologne won 4-0.

The message apparently translates as “To all who are in the crisis areas, you can do it! Hang on, be daring. Good luck! I hope that as many lives as possible can be saved.” (translation from goal.com).
